10 reasons why you should hold your Conference in East London

Ever considered holding your conference in East London? There’s a plethora of reasons why you should look East when planning your events. The CEME Conference Centre takes you though the top ten reasons here:

1) Exciting and unique venues

From purpose built, hi-tech conference centres, to refurbished shabby chic warehouses along the docks, you’ll find East London has a range of venues of all sizes, shapes and colours. With largescale redevelopment happening across the region, you’ll find top class facilities and hidden gems nestled in London’s traditionally industrial heartland.

2) Excellent customer care

It’s true that there’s lots of competition when it comes to London based conference venues and you’ll find that by going out to the East, the same mantra applies. Venues cannot rest on their laurels – indeed they will often go above and beyond to entice clients out of central London – so you can rest assured that you can choose a venue that will aim to please.

3) Quality venues without the central London price tag

And here comes one of the best reasons to take your conference eastward. Have your pick of top quality venues, at a much lower price tag than a central London location. You’ll be amazed at the savings to be made by moving a few miles down the road from the City. Outer London venues may also be more flexible when it comes to special rates for SME’s, the public sector, charities, Local Authorities and associations too.

4) Great transport links

Just because you aren’t in central London, doesn’t mean you have to compromise on transport links either. An East London venue automatically opens up options for driving, with major roads such as the A13, A12 and A406 (North Circular) easily accessible from London and the M25. Many venues offer onsite parking too.

When it comes to public transport, East London venues will be well connected via underground, overground and bus services. That’s not even to mention the close proximity to City Airport, or outer London airports such as Stansted or Southend.

5) Mix of affordable privately owned and chain accommodation

And if you think you may miss out on the accommodation side, don’t fret… East London plays host to well-known chain hotels as well as independent establishments. You’ll also find that larger venues without on-site accommodation will partner with local hotels to offer advantageous rates and may also offer shuttle services between venues. Hotel prices will generally tend to be cheaper than central London locations too, offering further savings to be made by choosing an East London venue.

6) Award winning venues that set the standard

Just because a venue isn’t sitting in a posh area of London, doesn’t mean it’s not striving for excellence! When it comes to accolades and accreditations, East London venues have plenty in the bag. Look out for venues that are Accredited in Meetings with the Mia (the CEME Conference Centre is accredited with the Mia at Gold Level – the only venue to be so in East London and Essex) are members of Venues of Excellence and have also won industry accolades such as Best Places to Work in Hospitality and won coveted Customer Care awards.

7) Flexibility inside and out

While all venues aim to please, you may find the outer London venue is a little more flexible when it comes to your event. Modern purpose-built conference centres will not only hold the latest AV technology, but will feature flexible room layouts and multiple spaces to help make your conference a success. They may also feature that rare commodity of outdoor space, that many central locations lack.

8) Green space

And talking of outdoor space, an East London venue may even be able to offer landscaped gardens, lakes and greenery! This opens up a number of advantages such as the ability to hold outdoor activities, team building and even evening receptions and BBQ’s in the summer months. Not to mention the impact this can have on your delegates – green spaces can be great for free thinking, especially compared to the drab, grey stone and pollution of the city.

9) Day delegate rates that really are inclusive

Outer London venues can not only be very competitive on pricing, but can include items that you may pay more from at other venues. For instance, at CEME Conference Centre day delegate rates include all room hire, full hospitality, free parking, complimentary Wi-Fi, CEME water, pads, pens, blotters and mints.

10) Professional events teams

You will find that you’ll not compromise on events teams either. Many have learnt their trade working in London, but have been lured out by the promise of great working conditions and a varied role at an outer London venue. You will also find that they are used to dealing with people from all walks of life – from locals arranging a wedding or birthday bash, to event professionals arranging Conferences and exhibitions, and are used to dealing with a wide range of questions and requests. They will treat all their clients with professionalism and courtesy, whether you are a seasoned events pro, or booking rooms for the first time.
